BERRY BITS: Juniper Valley Park 2017 Summer Concert Series was a blast

The 2017 Juniper Valley Park Summer Concert series kicked off on July 11th with Polka in the Park featuring the Polka Brothers playing both polka and pop classics. Next up on July 18th was Totally 80s with White Wedding which had many in the crowd reliving their glory days. Queensboro UNICO cosponsored Italian Heritage Night with Elio Scaccio and Tony Valente on July 25th, when 3 mayoral candidates ‒ Sal Albanese, Bo Dietl and Nicole Malliotakis ‒ greeted concertgoers. August 1st was Classic Rock Night with Generations combined with the National Night Out Against Crime. There were rides and games for the kids and safety information distributed to attendees. We had a bonus concert August 6th when Queens Borough President Melinda Katz sponsored Yesterday and Today, a Beatles Tribute band as part of her Katz Concert Series. The final concert, on August 8th, was Tie Dye Tuesday with hippie rock band Solshyne. Thank you to all who came out to enjoy the festivities. And a special thank you to co-sponsors Juniper Valley Park Conservancy, NYC Department of Parks and Recreation, Queensboro UNICO and Crifasi Real Estate.
