Our Lady of Hope welcomes Rev. Noel Daduya

Rev. Noel Daduya

Rev. Noel A. Daduya, CMF was the youngest of ten children of the late Pacita Abao and Pedro Daduya, having been born December 25, 1972. He entered Mary Help of Christians Minor Seminary at the age of 11 in his home province in the Philippines. In May 1989, he entered Claret Seminary, Quezon City in college. He took his first profession on May 7, 1995 and after three years, he took his Perpetual Profession on July 16, 1999 in the Congregation of Missionaries, Sons of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary (CMF), commonly called, Claretian Missionary Fathers. After finishing his Theological Studies at Loyola School of Theology, Ateneo de Manila University, he was ordained a Deacon on October 24, 1999. After six months he was ordained to the Priesthood on May 6, 2000.

As a young missionary, Noel was almost kidnapped while on assignment on the mission frontier of the community in the Southern part of the Philippines called Basilan Province. This is a beautiful island which is mostly populated by Filipino Muslims and Christians and other indigenous groups, however, it was infiltrated by lawless elements in the 1980's like Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) and other Muslim extremists whose aim is to create havoc and destroy peace and community building in the area. Rev. Noel served for five years as Parochial Vicar, Pastor, School Administrator and Principal, Econome and Local Superior in various assignments in the community. He was then transferred to the seminary in the following year as Postulant Master for three years and later was designated as Assistant Vocation Director to the Visayas from June 2008 to May 2009.

Towards the end of that year he came to New York and was assigned as Parochial Vicar at Most Precious Blood Church in Walden from November 2009 to November 2012. From January 2014 to September 2017, he served as Associate Pastor at Saint Patrick's Church, Saint Margaret of Scotland Parish and Saint Eugene's Chapel in the Archdiocese of Toronto, Canada.

Rev. Noel has been assigned as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Hope since October 16, 2017.
