BERRY BITS: THERESA RILEY & DETECTIVE BELL HONORED AT SLOCUM REMEMBRANCE

On Saturday June 10th JPCA Executive Board Member Theresa Riley who very deservedly received the General Slocum Award for outstanding community service. The co-recipient of the award was Det. Tommy Bell of the 104 Pct. I have worked with both for years. It was a great event honoring 2 great people, said Bob Holden, President of the JPCA. A special thanks to Dan Austin and Anthony Mordente of All Faiths Cemetery for expanding the program and remembrance of the tragic General Slocum steamship fire that claimed over 1,000 lives, mostly women and children on June 15, 1904.
