Thanks to the efforts of Juniper Park Civic Association president Bob Holden, the 104th Precinct will be better prepared to fight crime.

Working with local businesses, Holden has secured three state-of-the-art computers, a late model unmarked car and a high speed cable line for the precinct.

Holden first approached Arthur LaFres, president of LeFres Ford of Middle Village (Fresh Pond Road). ‘Artie was glad to help and met with both Captan Culbert and Captain Cusanelli, the previous 104th Commanders,” said Holden. LaFres has donated an unmarked car for use in the 104th Precinct’s Anti-Crime division and Traffic Enforcement division.

Holden then approached Ken Rudzwick, president and CEO of Maspeth Federal Savings to see if the bank could donate a computer for the Community Affairs Division. “Kenny agreed and within weeks the 104th Precinct had a new computer system complete with color printer. Holden then contacted Anthony Milone, Vice President of Cross County Federal Savings. Once again without hesitation Milone agreed to donate a complete computer system for the Traffic Division of the precinct.

Holden then approached Christopher Spagnoli, Director of Sales and Marketing for RCN Corporation, to see about connecting e-mail for the precinct. RCN and Spagnoli not only agreed to hook the precinct up to cable but offered to donate a computer.

“The community is very appreciative of the generosity of our local business leaders. It shows that a little teamwork can go along way in improving the community. Please support companies that support our community,” said Bob Holden.
