So, after stomping on a police vehicle, cracking the car’s windshield, these lowlifes were just given a summons, not arrested? Outrageous! Police Commissioner Jesica Tisch is weak and incompetent. During the previous Giuliani administration when I used to live in the City, this cavalier response would never happen. No wonder street and subway crime is out of control, forcing the NYPD, governor, mayor and MTA to lie and employ “creative” crime statistics to make it appear crime is going down — to boost their job performance in the public’s eyes. The recipe for actually solving the crime situation is simple. Stiff punishment and aggressive apprehension of law breakers. End cashless bail. End reducing felony assault crimes to misdemeanor charges. Make incarcerated individuals serve their prison sentences. Keep violent offenders in custody instead of immediately releasing them only to commit more violence. Build more prisons if needed. Outlaw street encampments and return to committing the deranged street homeless to psychiatric hospitals as their permanent residences. When living in a free and unmonitored environment, they cannot be relied upon to take their antipsychotic medications. Voters in NYC deserve the uncivilized environment they live in because they support leaders who care more about quality of life offenders than their victims. I’m glad I moved away to safe and civilized Eastern Long Island.

Did you notice it was a lot quieter last night? We suggested drones and helicopters years ago only to be scoffed at by NYPD. We pay for the technology, why wasn't it being used to prevent crime in our area until now?
With respect to this group and to Mr Wong. You have to learn about what you’re dealing with. Of course it was quiet last night. They don’t hit the same spot twice in 2 days. Mr Wong, There is legislation currently sitting in Albany that is being ignored. Champion that legislature and encourage your constituents to get on the phone or emails with the appropriate people.

We should equip our neighborhood with security measures, encourage people to install cameras etc. After an incident last father's day when thieves broke into my property and attempted to steal my motorcycle I was shocked how little households have security cameras and the ones that do were not setup properly.

Unfortunately what NYPD did last night is reactive response as opposed to a more proactive approach. All city and state agencies do this and that’s part of the problem. I blame the politicians more than police response. With the Summer fast approaching you bet you’ll see this in that area again . Very hard to stop because these kids are planning these meet ups randomly at various times and locations on a moments notice.
