Please welcome the 104's new Commanding Officer Captain Peter Loehle who has 16 years of NYPD under his belt, nearly all of it in Queens.
He worked in the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights and then served as a sergeant at the 108th in Long Island City before coming to 104 briefly in 1995. He then moved on to the 28th precinct in Harlem before becoming Executive Officer at the 109th Precinct in Flushing. He returns to the 104 to claim the title of Commanding Officer.
Our new top cop was raised locally and attended Christ the King High School and St. John's University. His grandparents lived in Middle Village. He succeeds Thomas Cusanelli who has been transferred to the NYPD's Detective Bureau.
On Thursday, August 30th, Captain Loehle met with Bob Holden, president of the Juniper Park Civic Association, at the precinct stationhouse. “I am pleased that we have a captain who has such a distinguished background as Captain Loehle, he is very popular within the ranks of the NYPD,” said Holden.
Captain Loehle said he is committed to addressing quality of life issues and will make it one of his top priorities.
