Magistrate Harry Miller, in Ridgewood court yesterday, fined a number of Maspeth candy storekeepers $5 each on complaint of Patrolman William H. Harrer of the Newtown station, who charged them with allowing school children to drop pennies in chewing gum slot machines and also take chances on punch boards which the police claim are gambling devices.
I’m aware of the tragic incident in Middle Village on 80th St & 58th Ave, where two individuals were found deceased. Police have informed me that one had been deceased for some time, and the other allegedly took his own life today.
This is all preliminary, and there was no prior police history at the home.
Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.

The above locations are all within Queens Community Board 5
Work hours will be MON, 3/17/25 - FRI, 3/21/25 between 7:00am - 4:00pm
