On the 3rd inst. an old horse was stolen from Mr. John Nolan, Middle Village, Queens County. Yesterday the horse was found in the possession of a junk-dealer named Pat Mooney, doing business on North Ninth Street near First, Eastern District. Mooney was arrested by Officer Mangam, of the Forty-fifth Precinct, and locked up on a charge of receiving stolen property. Subsequently a boy named John Costello, 15 years of age, was arrested on a charge of stealing the horse. He denied the charge, but stated that a friend of his, named Patrick Carroll, stole the horse and sold it for $3, of this amount Costello received thirty-five cents. Carroll was arrested this morning at his residence by Officer Mangam. All the parties were taken before Justice Dailey this morning, who held them for examination on Tuesday next.
