Cono Gallo, 30, graduated from Fordham University’s College of Business Administration in 2001. He married his sweetheart, Vicki Nita-Gallo, in 1996 and they lived in Maspeth. After having recently returned from a Jamaican vacation, on 9/11 he was back at his office on the North Tower’s 92nd floor at Carr Futures, where he was a commodities broker. Everyone on that floor and above perished after the first plane hit the North Tower. 64th Street at 53rd Drive is co-named Cono E. Gallo Place.
Jennifer Lynn Mazzotta, 23, was a dedicated operations professional at Cantor Fitzgerald, working on the 105th floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. She was the eldest child of Catherine and Vito Mazzotta and lived in Maspeth. Jennifer was known for her vibrant personality, intelligence, and determination. At the time of her death, Jennifer was engaged to Anthony Roman, a student at the police academy. They were planning their future together, including their wedding and finding a home. 72nd Place at Grand Avenue is co-named Jennifer Mazzotta Way.
Christina Donovan Flannery, 26, was born in Middle Village, where she also grew up and continued to live into adulthood. Christina worked as a sales associate for Sandler O’Neil & Partners on the 104th floor of the World Trade Center’s South Tower. On the morning of September 11 after Flight 11 struck the North Tower, she called her husband, Brian, to let him know she was okay. At 9:03 a.m., Flight 175 struck the South Tower, leaving her floor above its impact zone. Brian did not hear from her again. Admiral Avenue at Metropolitan Avenue is co-named Christina Donovan Flannery Way.
Jill Maurer-Campbell, 31, grew up in Middle Village and lived there into adulthood. She attended and graduated from Adelphi University with a bachelor’s degree in communications, earning the highest GPA in the department for her year. Jill married Steven Campbell in 1999 and gave birth to their son, Jake, on November 4, 2000. On 9/11 she was working as an administrative assistant for Thompson Financial. She called her family after the first plane hit to say she was okay and would see them at dinner. Juniper Valley Road at Gray Street is co-named Jill Maurer-Campbell Street.
Dianne T. Signer, 32, worked on the 93rd floor of the North Tower at a company called Fred Alger. She was to be married that coming Saturday to Paul Mauceri, who had known her for 14 years. On the day of her wedding, the priest at St. Pancras conducted a Mass for her before a packed church. She was six months away from the birth of her first child when she died. 65th Drive at 75th Place is co-named Dianne T. Signer Drive.
