Wall of Shame
There’s simply no reason why the manager of this building, which is seen by thousands daily from the Long Island Expressway, and thousands more traveling down Woodhaven Blvd, hasn’t cleaned this eyesore in years. If vandals can figure out how to get up there to spray it with a fire extinguisher full of paint, the super can figure out how to clean it.

Out of Gas
This former service station at Fresh Pond Road and Metropolitan Avenue was condemned for the bridge repair project that happened some years back. Since then, it had been used by DOT for equipment storage and up until recently was surrounded by a chain link fence covered in camouflage material. Now that’s gone along with the heavy equipment, and a permanent iron fence has been erected. We aren’t sure what’s coming there next, but for now the community is exposed to the eyesore left behind.

RV Dystopia
The RV situation continues to be out of control, mostly in the western section of Maspeth. This one in particular sits outside 4th Calvary on 55th Avenue, and they are also found around the corner on 50th Street as well as along Rust Street and Laurel Hill Blvd. This is not safe and should not be condoned. After the RV fire that spread to the former Goodfellas Diner earlier this year, this should be a priority for our new NYPD Q-teams to address.
