Three months after 9/11, the smell of death lingered, floating over New York City, like a heavy cloud.
Unable to cope with the loss, the scent, destruction, death, and shock under attack. War hanging over our heads, I had to escape New York City to save my sanity. In my search for serenity, I flew to Arizona, the Grand Canyon. The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is such a magnificent site, nature at its best, and the Sun illuminated the layers of strata.
The Sunset was Sublime.
My donkey was on the rim of the Canyon. My heart filled with terror of the thought of my donkey braying and me going over the cliff. A caravan of donkeys led the way. I was behind a donkey named Susan. Susan the Donkey had a gas problem. With every stride she passed gas. This blunted the beauty all around me.
At the top of the Canyon, I dismounted my donkey. My breath was taken away by the stunning beauty, magnificence, grandeur of this marvel.
The Grand Canyon: A Hallelujah Crepuscular glowing moment.
