Council Member Robert Holden busted a film production for taking approximately 100 parking spaces throughout August 5, which burdened Middle Village. The TV show “Gary, The Dog,” was shooting at 75-05 Caldwell Ave. and requested nine separate parking locations. It would be expected that the parking requests would be for locations near the filming, but the company requested 57th Avenue between 80th Stret and 73rd Place, 80th Street between Eliot Avenue and Caldwell Avenue, and Eliot Avenue between 71st and 74th Streets, as well as along Caldwell Avenue and 75 Streets. The Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment was alerted and admitted that the production was in violation of their permit, but what steps it took against the violator were unknown.
