Speaking of pot shops, the current rule for siting a legal shop requires a 1,000-foot buffer between the new one and any existing ones, but state officials said in August that they are looking to implement a โ€œpublic convenience and advantageโ€ waiver which would allow them to be sited closer together. The details are not finalized, but why do we need more of these shops closer together? The roll-out of this initiative has been an absolute disaster, yet NYS can always find ways to make things worse.
