The Cannabis Place located in the former Chase Bank on Metropolitan Ave near 71 Street was broken into in late July along with an adjacent cosmetic business. Witnesses saw and camera footage shows two teen-aged suspects, both inside and outside the premises. They entered through the roof. The owner claims that only non-THC-containing products were stolen. However, he also testified at Community Board 5 when his license was being deliberated that he had top-notch security, which appears to not be the case. Oddly, shortly after the break-in, he invited news cameras in to expose the reality: 15-year-old kids can easily figure out a way into the place.
