It’s that time of year again – time to bring your heat loving plants back indoors. You have to decide which of your plants to keep and how to care for them over the winter. Once the overnight temperature approaches 60 degrees, it’s time to make a decision.

There are a few guidelines to follow. First, keep only healthy plants and never bring in a plant with pests or disease.

If you feel the plant would look good as a house plant, why not bring it in and use it as one? Many plants will bloom indoors over the winter if enough light is available.

If space is an issue, try growing cuttings instead of moving the entire plant indoors.

Finally, make sure to water the plants regularly once they are brought inside, as indoor heat tends to dry them out quickly, making them limp. Spray them with water every other day.
