Gentlemen, enjoy your day!

Last night after 10pm a noise complaint was made to NYPD 104th Precinct. The responding officer, who arrived around 10:30pm, told the complainant, "They will be done soon, it’s a party and part of their culture." The music continued until after midnight when officers responded to another 311 complaint and finally issued a summons. This is unacceptable. This is not culture, it's NOISE and it's illegal. Last Thursday at our meeting, we were informed by the precinct that they had a plan to address noise this summer, but it seems the plan is to protect perps and allow everyone else's quality of life to be ruined. ... Move out of nyc it's everywhere.

Culture is not a defense under the law.

Welcome to New York οΏΌ

And the summer has only officially started today!!!

Maybe the Cop new the family?

This is UNACCEPTABLE! Respect your neighbors! Living around people requires consideration for others. This is the problem nowadays in society, there’s clearly none! No consideration! Your neighbors have babies, some people work weekends, care for elderly relatives or maybe they simply want peace and quiet in their own homes!

Call ice

Had that happen about 2 yrs ago. A different type of wedding was going on till 3am. Woke me up at 1 called the precinct from my back porch and the desk sergeant couldn’t hear me. He said if I didn’t call they would have never got shut down. Mind you this was 5 blocks from my house

What about OUR CULTURE? Our culture is quiet. That cop made it quite clear that THEIR CULTURE takes precedence over our American culture. So who does this cop serve? Foreign culture or the American taxpayers who pay his salary? Are we supposed to give up our culture because they decided to import theirs and totally disregard our American way of life? This is North America, not South America. If they don’t want to assimilate and respect the American way of life, then what are they doing here? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Maybe the police behavior defending these crimes dressed as „culture” should be discussed with the precinct that dispatches the police officers defending the „culture”. In fact, there is a community affairs meeting coming up on 6/25 at 7 pm at the 104th Precinct. People should massively show up and address this issue. Pictures can’t be posted in this thread but there is a flyer going around with the meeting details. Meeting Notice: “The Community Council meets once every month. Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings. We provide community updates and crime stat reports. Guests are invited to address any concerns with Commanding Officer Captain Joshua Rios.”

People now have no respect, cause the police let them

What about the rules that the park is CLOSED 9PM. That’s part of our culture.

Vote this year is a huge vote, Governor That’s where it counts! Make it ‘right’

For whatever the reason quality of life issues are extremely low on their priority list

where is this ?

Well my culture is I sleep at 10 to work in the AM to be a productive citizen of the USA

Music is noise it’s a nuisance and should not be tolerated , it ruins QOL and is disrespectful to your neighbors. Police need to shut it down first try

I am surprised they came. Years ago we had a neighbor playing music in the middle of the night. The cop who answered the phone said we can come there and tell them to lower the music ut as soon as we leave they will put the music louder to get back at you for calling.

I was once told by an officer who responded to my noise complaint that "if you don't like the loud music coming from this restaurant you can move out, because they are a business and can do whatever they want"

Out of curiosity, which culture?

If you want to be loud and play loud music with the excuse that it’s part of your ‘culture’ (πŸ™„) then why don’t you LIVE in a neighborhood surrounded by your culture? They CHOOSE to live here and know full well what this area is like. I call these agitators. These people are not vested in the community.

Disgraceful pieces of garbage

These fkn "cultures " are ruining neighborhoods and people's right to peace and quiet. Not interested in protecting anyone's culture. Maybe they should move to where their fkn "culture" is acceptable. Time to get tough. Past time.

People are disrespectful...that is not culture, it's a I"don't care about any one else."

These people are not like us and have no right to be here.

I’d post the cops photo and name and file a complaint. That is not the way to be treated.

The thieves have the keys to the drop boxes. And the post office knows it. I was told by a mail carrier it’s an inside job because as soon as the change the locks the thieves have the new key. The police caught to Asians driving an expensive Audi suv stealing from a drop box by οΏΌ crematory Hill a couple of years ago. Never found out what happened to those two guys and the police turned them over to the postal police who took credit for catching them and they did nothing. It was the cops from the 104 that caught after being tipped off by someone who lived there and saw them tampering with the dropbox.

Not sure about Middle Village but All of Maspeth's drop boxes have digital keys now...Impossible to clone

I always drop mail off inside an actual post office, these days..

This all started with the election ballots cast in 2016 and mail in ballots. After that Louis Dejoy was put in charge of the post office. It will never get better. Dejoy may be gone but he was a tool. Project 2025 at work.

Good information for people to understand. However, mail theft has been rampant and unrelenting, unchecked, unchallenged in our community for the last 15 to 20 years until recently when we sounded the alarm. Why did it take our politicians and elected leaders to even lift an eyebrow until now? That is completely unacceptable and reprehensible, and that’s on them. Lack of City, State, and Federal leadership has been hurting us for decades in many other criminal and quality of life matters. Why are we electing such useless people to our leadership posts?
