Sending prayers. Thank God she will be alright.
What? No speed cameras? No flashing lights to show people that they must slow down. What a shame. Thank goodness the crossing guard will be okay.
How sad. It is amazing more aren't plowed down by that school by impatient drivers. My prayers to the victim and the kids who witnessed the accident.
All of Eliot Ave has become a free for all with drivers that are in a hurry to "beat" red lights and its like an obstacle course. The important thing is the crossing guard will be alright. But all the way down to 80th street where the double parking and erratic driving with people trying to pass each other on a one lane street is absurd. It sound like the driver in this instance was not paying attention or looking out the window...and maybe looking at something else which everyone seems to be doing these days. Get off the cell phone when you are driving folks! Thats not multi tasking thats dangerous!
Send the driver to jail. How careless. To run over a crossing guard who was probably at minimum wearing a yellow vest. And to crash into a tree, after plowing over her, so hard that your airbags deployed? How fast were they going? Senseless.
Those two blocks from Hope to Lutheran Ave are a nightmare. When we were living there I literally had to dive out of the way of a vehicle on two separate occasions, and an elderly person was run over and killed at the 7/11 last year.
The thing that gets me is most of these people live 3-4 blocks from the school. Do they really need to pick up their kids with a car? The double and triple parking is ridiculous over there at pickup time.
