Last night at CB5, a board member asked for a vote to oppose the construction of the battery farm by PS/IS128. There were 10 board members who said they "needed more information" before they could vote. Most of them were CB5 members when City of Yes for Carbon Neutrality came before them which authorized the placement of battery farms on just about every property in NYC, but they had no questions about them back then.
The measure passed anyway.

I was surprised there are 2 battery plants a few blocks from my house in Maspeth. I had not heard anything about them
Did the 10 have nose rings, or pink hair?
Sorry, I couldn't help myself
🤣🇺🇸💪
Put these by the board members houses see how fast they oppose them. PERIOD!
Must tie this up in the courts.
How about the use of the battery powered school buses? The city already has 68 in use and by 2035 the entire fleet must be powered by these batteries.
The children will be traveling in these vehicles with those batteries.
This is again caused by democrats and their BS climate agenda.
Happy to learn it passed anyway. Unfortunately, these days ‘newbies’ to the community are placed in decision-making roles. It’s unfortunate that many do not know the rich history of the communities which make up the Greater Ridgewood area.
These battery farms have no place in residential areas, no less near a school. The ten who needed ‘more information’ need a good lesson in civics.
I am so disgusted by the ignorance, arrogance, bigotry and greed of so many people in powerful positions. This should have never even gotten this far. Our technology has surpassed our humanity. Hopefully this lithium plant can be stopped.
