At the November 6 scoping meeting, IBX project leader Jordan Smith stated that the Woodside LIRR and proposed IBX were two blocks apart. This video shows the true distance. ... See MoreSee Less
Apparently the MTA wishes to destroy Queens!
Now imagine this and other 'strolls' in snow, sleet or our powerful rain storms....
Figures don't lie, liars figure....
why not reopen G train subway line to queens blvd from brooklyn that mayor bloomberg shut down due to low ridership before barclays arena was built
They all lie! It's a done deal.

Wondering if the IBX will improve your commute to the EFMR or 7 trains? Here's a video that illustrates the very impractical transfer. Interesting that every journalist thus far has missed this fact. ... See MoreSee Less
The entire video is 6 minutes long.
Yeah, there’s no straight connection unless, they can dig under Garfield Avenue up to the bellmouth they have on the upper level 74th St. station where there’s an existing built station that was never used. But that would require a lot more construction under Elmhurst starting somewhere after grand Avenue.
It’s actually a lot closer to the 69th street station on the 7 than 74th street. But I get why you chose 74th. More train choices.
You need to walk faster
We see impractical what do they see???
NOT IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!!
No express needs to stop at the park.
This is great for Queens finallyππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
Wait till it snows and rains in the streets of icy and puddles glad I don't have to take it and I really don't want to come in through my hood
Thank you for this. Queens residents, and middle village specifically, can benefit from a lot of things - but the IBX isn’t one of them
Tear down all roads, flood the subways and uproot the tracks. Let's go back to good old days of 1600s
Only reason this is being discussed is to bring in indoctrinated college transplants from outside the neighborhood and city to form a voting bloc to transform the way these areas votes! You all need to get your head out of the sand and understand that is the only reason crooked politicians are having this discussion! Bring in a way these transplants can commute from these neighborhoods so they can live in these neighborhoods!! Gentrification is the real enemy, and only reason for the decline of NYC and America!!! Pass the word and enlighten your family, friends and neighbors!! The future is up to us!! Do not think illegal immigration is the only way they are trying to destroy America!
This is purely based on money like everything else. It will not do anyone who lives here any good. Sad. NYC is finished.
Terrible idea οΏΌ

Off track: Queens residents say “We don’t need it!” to IBX light-rail plan
www.amny.com
Queens residents attended a public meeting about the IBX light rail plan, raising concerns about overcrowding, development and other issues.I thought this is why they installed citibikes all over π€·π»βοΈ
Not to cause arguments, but to go from Middle Village to Brooklyn college takes an hour and a half by train because you have to go through Manhattan. With this train it would be half an hour. Without a car, a lot of Brooklyn is difficult to get to from Queens.
Won't it increase property value across the whole neighborhoods with a stop?
Are you kidding me? This would benefit so many people in our community and the city at large.
The arguments against it are so stupid. Why restrict people's mobility? It's such a pain in the ass to travel between Queens and Brooklyn. The train line will also help get people out of cars, especially on the BQE which is crumbling. Some people think no one will use it but this is straight up false. If you build it, people will use it.
NYC had a trolley system once that's once. How about light rail to small towns in upstate NY
Agree
Better faster transit on an existing right of way is a good idea.
Show up at the meeting on Nov 19 …please!!! It should be standing room only !!!
The IBX requires a population shift to the route of the train line which, on the queens side, involves tearing up one- and two- family neighborhoods and replacing them with high rises in an attempt to create demand to make the IBX viable. This is not just my opinion. The required population shift is clearly alluded to in the Building Congress Report published in June 2025. The IBX is a tale of two boroughs whereby Brooklyn is seeking economic development in five neighborhoods along the route while Queens is a leafy green residential community and residents like it that way. One size does not fit all in this scenario. In reality the IBX is a real estate developers dream but the $5.5 billion project is a huge gamble since there is no guarantee that demand will materialize. The housing affordability crisis requires policy changes so that the tens of thousands of existing apartments can be released into the marketplace rather than warehoused by landlords for various reasons.
We need it.
Expand freight operations is more logical
We don't need it. Noooo!

The people who will have their homes bought through eminent domain should fight tooth and nail and slow this project down
If done correctly it will be an asset but sadly it won’t and will cause a lot of issues including eminent domain of graves and more properties. We the voters have little input these days developers dump loads of cash aka dark money into getting what they want as we the people get screwed! Even worse we pay higher taxes so developers don’t pay a dime! I guarantee it will cause the foundations of many homes to crumble much like when the Q38 was rerouted to turn onto Furmanville from 80th. That poor home built on land fill the foundation crumbled. Sadly like most of Middle Village especially where this IBX will be around the Juniper park track is land fill as it was a swamp back in the 1930’s. No one remembers nor does the city properly investigate. The constant vibrations will cause very big issues. Driving around you see sink holes everywhere now it will be much worse The area’s infrastructure cannot handle it.
We don't need this in our neighborhood!!
We don’t need it!!
This would have have been nice back in the day when I had to go from Jamaica to downtown Brooklyn for college. Instead I had to go thru Manhattan . Took me over an hour
I don’t think we need this
No. But if they do it anyway, it must not have a stop in middle village. We don’t want it. We have no desire to go to Brooklyn (study showed 6 or 7%). All 5 boroughs do NOT need to look like Manhattan. When the highway was built on Long Island there is a long stretch of road without an exit because the locals didn’t want it. No IBX stop in Middle Village.
They want to put 3 stations within 2 miles of each other. Metropolitan Ave., Eliot Ave., and Grand Ave. are designated for stations. There are no other neighborhoods that have that many so close. We also, have less people due to 1 & 2 family homes. How did they come up with this plan? Ah, they are able to build high-rise apartment buildings around the stations! Pay attention people! We don’t need 3 stations. If we are stuck with this City of Yes garbage, don’t let them push this on us too!
Let's start a revolution what are they gonna do to us power to the people
Say no to IBX
Make those people in favor pay for it.

Is that the bathroom by the children's playground near 78th Street?
Suddenly I feel the need to tinkle ππΊπΈπͺ
What was wrong with the old Parky house?
are the handball courts dtill there??
I can't wait to hear the projected cost. Going forward, is there a plan to maintain cleanliness during the operating hours? And while we're at it, how about adding trash and recycling bins throughout the Park along with daily collection so the garbage isn't overflowing. Oh, and let's implement fines for littering, as a means of discouraging littering.
How could it possibly take them a year to remodel that small bathroom?
NOT NECESSARY
Absolute waste of money, nothing wrong with the old parky house
