I think the same is true of parks. Yesterday I told a NYC Park Ranger that it doesn't make sense to me to build the new The QueensWay when our current Queens parks are understaffed and underfunded. She sympathized with me and explained that the city focuses on new projects because it's much easier to get federal funds for new projects than to get funding to maintain existing infrastructure. I hope there's a way that we can change that pattern.

they're riding them through Juniper Valley Park and their parents buy them the bikes. No surprise that they go on to race cars through the neighborhood. Doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to police this when these kids are racing electric bikes on the running track in the park.
