The Parks Department has come back with a much better plan for the Juniper Valley Park blacktop/softball field which incorporates much of the feedback provided. This is a step in the right direction. However, the plan for the redesign of Maurice/Principe Park (left) leaves much to be desired. The updated playground will include new play areas for kids ages 2 to 5 and 5 to 12, plus a spray shower area, which is good. But there are currently 6 pickleball courts and that would be reduced to 2 under the Parks plan and that seemed to take the community board by surprise. It’s not that hard to listen to what the community members who use the park say they want and honor their requests. Council Member Holden has spoken with Parks to try to rectify the situation.
