A mail carrier assigned to the Maspeth Post Office was robbed of her mailbox key in late July at the corner of 55th Avenue and 63rd Place around 12:30 p.m. The perp pointed a gun at her waist as he removed the key from her belt. The key is used to open green relay boxes and possession of one allows easy access for mail thieves. We all know this system needs to be replaced with something which keeps both mail carriers and our mail safe.
