It is with great sadness that we inform you that our dear friend and colleague, Bob Doocey, passed away the morning of May 23rd with his family by his side. His passing is a great loss for his family, friends and our community. We send our deepest sympathy to his wife, Linda, to his children and to his family.
Bob Doocey was a neighborhood activist in the true sense of the description. He served on the Juniper Park Civic Association Executive Board for many years and he was the Assistant Editor of the Juniper Berry. There wasn't a topic you could mention where Bob Doocey didn't have an opinion and many of his opinions ended up as articles in the Juniper Berry.
We will miss Bob Doocey's pragmatic presence in our world. He spoke often of his wife, Linda, and his children and while he loved his neighborhood, worked hard to keep it in an orderly fashion with his many letters and opinions to elected officials, his family, wife, Linda, his children and his siblings were the love of his life and we know they are mourning his loss as we all are.
Rest in peace, Bob Doocey, you made your mark on our world and while you left us far too soon, we will always remember you for your kind, giving, generous personality, and let's not forget your very funny dry sense of humor, understanding you always had the best interests of the other guy at the top of your priority list.
In a world that describes our achievements as our “bucket list,” Bob Doocey would tell you he was just getting started, with many more jobs to do for his neighborhood! Bob there will be a void at the JPCA meeting table, you will be sorely missed.
