Juniper Park Civic Association is urging all concerned residents to testify against the proposed high school at 74th Street and 57th Avenue in Maspeth at an upcoming hearing Thursday, February 26th at 4pm at the School of Heroes (PS58Q) on Grand Avenue.

The hearing is an eminent domain hearing because the School Construction Authority plans to condemn the property rather than negotiate with the current owner, who has listed the property for $15 million.

There are limited chances to speak out against this project. Please make an effort to attend and bring a neighbor to testify as well.

Most importantly, call Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley at (718) 366-3900 and urge her to say no to the school which will overburden an area already crowded with schools, make commuting more difficult and destroy our quality of life.
