Last night our board met with MTA planners regarding the IBX. They presented slides which provide unrealistic scenarios regarding how we get around, and touted benefits like having access to more pre-K. We aren't sure who is taking their kid on the subway to a pre-K in Brooklyn, but this is what they think we will find exciting.
For easier transfer connections to and from other modes of transit at certain IBX stations the MTA could add in movable walkways like they now have at the airports.
Even if it’s not as good as they still it’s still better than it is right now. Taking the bus between boros sucks
Can speak as loud and clear as we like, but they will jam it down our throats like every other brilliant change these transplants force upon our city.
The walk from the Roosevelt Ave stop to the IBX is not a 5 minute walk, someone already clocked it.
What a joke. The population in Brooklyn is too saturated for kids from Queens to attend. They're always blowing smoke and offering freebies.
People should watch Channel 12 Brooklyn News and see first hand what is coming to Middle Village. There are Undercover Cops on every corner because crime is happening 24 hours. Now they will have access to take a train here to a Middle Class, Million Dollar Home neighborhood. What do you think will happen then?? Those Brooklyn UnderCover Cops will not come here. The 104 precinct will have it's hands full!!!

It’s nonsense run by activists. There is nothing activists love more than to out meaningless data points and use them in a misleading way. Almost no one travels in this direction. In reality it’s just a short cut to Manhattan for most, but it will bring unwanted development and strain in infrastructure not to mention connection a few nice areas at both ends to high crime areas in the middle. Two things will happen. Development will come which will increase prices which means increased rent and property taxes. It will also bring gentrification to those places as gentrification exists along rail corridors.
The IBX is useless if it doesnt go to Manhattan, which it could via the LIRR tracks that it cross over

I wonder how soon this will be forgotten like the Malba incident was and NYPD will go back to being satisfied with their atrocious response to these events. This happens on a nightly basis almost throughout our city. If you think about it this event has no negative effect on NYPD CompStay report which is all the care about. Everything that actually happens is just crime perception if there’s no data recorded.
