The Juniper Park Civic Association will hold their annual holiday party and raffle on Thursday, December 13th, 2018 at 7:45pm at Our Lady of Hope Auditorium in Middle Village. The civic association will use this occasion to close out its 80th anniversary year.

The association was founded in 1938 as the Residents of Juniper Park Homes, Inc., after a housing development built around Juniper Valley Park. In 1944, the group merged with the Eliot Avenue Civic Association and took their present name. Their territory now includes Maspeth and Middle Village.

“The membership of the Juniper Park Civic Association has sustained itself over the years because the people who live here care so much about this community,” said Tony Nunziato, president of the group.

Heading into 2019, the civic organization finds itself in the midst of many battles, including fighting overdevelopment, keeping a watchful eye over 2 sewer projects and advocating for PS9 to remain a much needed school.

The Juniper Park Civic Association's membership includes more than 1700 families throughout Maspeth and Middle Village and produces the very popular Juniper Berry, a quarterly magazine that focuses on local issues of concern and neighborhood history.

As is traditional, the party on the 13th will be preceded by a brief membership meeting. The food will be supplied by area restaurants and the raffle prizes will be donated by local merchants. New members are welcome and all elected officials are invited to attend.
