Council Member Robert Holden recently collaborated with the NYC Sheriff’s Office, NYPD Chief of Patrol, New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, & NYPD 104th Precinct to tackle illegal activity at Metro King Deli, located at 73-02 Metropolitan Ave. Their inspection unveiled a concerning scenario with trap doors concealing drugs, illegal vape products, and untaxed cigarettes. The lengths to which this establishment went to hide illegal activities are alarming.

In another operation, they targeted Gas City at 73-12 Metropolitan Ave. This location was disturbingly blatant in its illegal activities, with drugs displayed openly and even sold. More shocking were the illegal drugs, like mushrooms, packaged in a manner appealing to children, alongside a smoke lounge in the basement.
