After much anticipation, the Home Depot located at 59-15 Maurice Avenue on the site of the former Coca-Cola Bottling Company opened on January 8 and is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The store is 118,000-square feet and employs 245 associates. The rooftop parking proved to be a problem in its early days as car and motorcycle enthusiasts were doing stunts there after the store closed at night and this was keeping nearby residents awake. After hearing community concerns, the company installed a gate in mid-February at the bottom of the ramp to close off the roof at night. Thank you for responding to our concerns.
