Since October 1st, Community Board 5 residents have had the ability to make an appointment to have their electronic waste picked up by the NYC Department of Sanitation. To schedule a pick-up, residents can visit nyc.gov/electronics or call 311. Electronics include items covered by NYS law. Appliances that are mostly metal or plastic that are not on this list should be recycled with metal, glass, plastic and cartons.
