Re: Outrage
Dear Mr. Mayor:
As you are the gatekeeper of this city, I write to you demanding answers. My family and I reside in Middle Village, Queens, a community you are very familiar with. We own a business in Queens as well as a home. We have seen our property taxes sky rocket under your administration. However, along with the rise in property value, we in Middle Village are also starting to see a rise in crime which compromises the quality of living of all its residents.
Not only was the sanctity of our home compromised, when it was burglarized on January 27th, 2007 but our dog, my 28 month old daughter’s dog, Buddy was stolen. Now Mr. Mayor how would you explain this to my little girl? Your administration is quick and eager to point out positive changes under your administration but what about the gaping hole in our police precincts? This is not an issue to be answered by the police department, you are the mayor and therefore it is your responsibility to ensure that you have enough manpower in your line of defense to protect and serve and you’ve failed miserably.
So Mr. Mayor a man with all the answers, please come and explain to my daughter, Deanna why her Buddy isn’t around anymore. Please come and explain to her trusting, two year old little mind what we can not. If nothing else come and apologize for failing her, as the mayor of the city we live in, that is exactly what you did.
Sincerely,
The Tarantola Family
