We have a new business that just opened in Middle Village and it’s called the Lifestyle Barber Shop. Lifestyle is owned by the very personable Roman Ilyayev who previously worked in a hair salon on Yellowstone Boulevard in Forest Hills. Roman decided to branch out on his own when he concluded that many of his customers coming into the shop in Forest Hills were selecting him as their barber of choice. He is looking forward to seeing many of those same customers in his new Lifestyle Barber Shop.

Lifestyle will specialize in professional men’s haircuts and Roman said he will expand his business to include women’s haircuts. Roman was quick to state that his prices will be reasonable and not off the wall as we’re seeing in some of the hair salons in recent years. He feels we are in a tough economy and the residents of the neighborhood will welcome a business that brings some sanity to the marketplace as it relates to the price of haircuts. Have you noticed the outrageously unrealistic prices in some of the women’s hair salons lately? What are they thinking?

We welcome Roman and his new hair salon to Middle Village and after talking to him for about thirty minutes to do this article you quickly conclude that he is bright, personable and very friendly. We feel that with those characteristics he is sure to do well on Eliot Avenue in Middle Village, which is also his hometown since he lives nearby.
