On this bright, sunny, very cold and extremely windy afternoon I ponder what I should write for the next “Berry.“ I am considering the question of long term unemployment for both the young, poorly educated, unskilled class and the well-educated experienced middle-aged class worker. Both classes have not been able to find steady work. I do believe the solution is different for each class. Indeed it is a very important question for society to find a long-term solution if we are to remain a prosperous nation with liberty and justice for all.

Clearly the Obama Democratic concept of immigration reform, which is now also being echoed by liberal Republicans, should be off the table until not only the border is secured but until prudent internal enforcement of the immigration laws is achieved. I raise this question as the tidal wave of Obama Socialism collides with this country’s long-standing economic model of capitalism and entrepreneurship. I raise this question in light of the charges that the Obama team manipulated unemployment numbers just before the 2012 Presidential Elections.

Obama is asking everyone to talk about the future benefits of ObamaCare at the Thanksgiving table where your family and friends have gathered to celebrate the Pilgrims first Thanksgiving with Native Americans, who were mistakenly called Indians. The Pilgrims risked life and limb to flee the kingdoms of despotic rulers of the “Old World.” The founding fathers of America established this great nation and the dream of America on E Pluribus Unum, which is translated from the Latin meaning: “From Many – One.” That is, One Nation under God with liberty and justice for all.

I trust that you did take a time out from football, to discus the economic harm that ObamaCare is doing to the middle class and the verified poor at the Thanksgiving table. If Obama and his arrogant, fraudulent, incompetent administration aided by his democratic water boys in the Senate like Harry Reid and Charles Schumer are not stopped as we enter 2014 there will be a lot less on your next Thanksgiving table.

With regard to the immigration issue, I call to your attention the remarks of former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm given at a recent immigration overpopulation conference in Washington D.C.: “First, to destroy America, turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country. History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual. However, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put it this way: ‘The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.’ Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, and Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, Corsicans and Muslims.”

Frankly, I believe that any adult that has traveled to America on a legitimate passport but has long overstayed its expiration date and is paying taxes in accordance with the Internal Revenue Service instruction to file form 1040 should be moved to the “Documented Classification” for immediate review of his status and put on a fast track for a green card. There are several other categories that require further scrutiny.

While the snake oil salesman-in-chief is peddling ObamaCare on Thanksgiving, could your best deal have been on black Friday? ObamaCare applicants across the country are finding their premiums are tripling, their favorite doctors aren’t available, the physicians they can see are often far away and many prestigious hospitals offering specialized care are off limits to them according to a Washington Examiner survey of insurance agents and brokers across the country.

The pundits on the nightly news at Fox have divulged the many flaws with ObamaCare. Either repealing ObamaCare or letting it die on the vine will be a first step in promoting job growth and restoring the liberty that is the essence of America. As we begin the Holiday Season, I ask all my readers to pray for the veterans and their families who have made great sacrifices to guarantee the freedom expressed in our United States Constitution.
