I love hearing children’s loud joyous laughter and sound of the little voices shouting as they jump up-and-down, up-and-down on their backyard trampoline; high-and-low, high-and-low on the
kiddie swings.
I love the sight of my neighbor’s red tulips in their front garden patch. They stand erect as though they are guarding the house. They remind me of the red-coated guards of Buckingham Palace.
I love the sweet and delicate scent of my backyard honeysuckle bush. The fragrance is mild by day but intense by night. The scent is sweet and floral with undertones of honey and citrus. It is considered a highly invasive shrub blocking the light to native plants. I forgive it and enjoy its pleasing aroma.
I love the warm feel of my cotton flannel bathrobe on a cold morning. My soft cozy robe cradles my neck. The robe warms my body when I tie the belt tightly around my waist. Now I am ready to go downstairs to the kitchen for breakfast.
I love the taste of my morning breakfast bowl of stewed prunes swimming in cold milk. Combined, they form a marbleized pattern, almost too beautiful to disturb by ingesting.
Mostly I love and treasure all my family and friends who have helped me have such a long, beautiful life.
