The Goodfellas Diner, aka the Clinton Diner, closed in 2018 after a devastating fire. This past May, trailers parked near the property went ablaze and the fire spread to the diner again. This was noticed by partygoers attending a Curtis Sliwa mayoral campaign fundraiser at Clinton Hall Palace nearby. There were hopes that the diner, which had become renowned more for its film shoots than its food, would be rehabilitated and reopened, but that really seems like wishful thinking now. Trailers parked in our area are not only hazardous to the people living in them, but also the greater community, as incidents like this prove. Mr. Sliwa, City Council candidate Alicia Vaichunas, JPCA President Tony Nunziato, and John Healy, candidate for Council District 26, held a press conference later to call attention to the issue.
