More than fifty children were made happy on Thursday night of last week, when Santa Claus, who was on his way to the North Pole, stopped at the Christmas festival of Maspeth Review, held at 8 Maspeth Avenue, to distribute candy, apples, oranges, and German delicacies besides toys. Miss Emma Grimm was chairman. An interesting entertainment of songs, dances and recitations was given. Anna Brankman and Baby Glecke were stars. The other entertainers were Theresa Hoffman, fancy dancing: Dorothy Hoffman, acrobatic dancing: Theresa and Helen Hertle sang and danced. Helen also gave a tap dance, and Theresa was the pianist. Mrs. Minnie Jacobsen was the pianist of the evening. Before refreshments were served, everyone played games, and the winners were given prizes. Christmas songs were sung. Santa Claus, impersonated by William Vogel, kept his headquarters at the prettily decorated tree.
