Our new business spotlight for this issue of the Juniper Berry shines on The Good Diner owned by two friends, Perry Mihileas and Nick Michos. Perry and Nick live in the Maspeth area and they have owned the business, also known as the Grand & Remsen Diner, for about six months.
Their menu tells the whole story of what the diner is about because it takes you from breakfast all the way to the late night supper. They are open seven days a week from 7am to 10pm. The atmosphere created by Perry and Nick is friendly with a down home kind of neighborliness.
For breakfast, the diner has Specialty Omelettes, Griddle Specialties, Belgian Waffles and Buttermilk Pancakes. For lunch, it’s a field day of food starting with choices of Wrap Sandwiches, Cold Salad Platter Combinations, Grilled Chicken Sandwiches, Panini and then, as you segue to dinner there are entrees of meat, seafood and pasta as well as Greek Delights like Mousaka, Pastichio, Spinach pie and Gyro. For the weight conscious, there are several Diet entrees to choose from and for those not interested in counting calories there’s the complete dessert menu with choices that will whet everyone’s appetite.
Here’s an idea, why don’t you visit the Good Diner, and see and taste for yourself some of their food delights and even though they’ve been at the Grand Avenue location for six months now, introduce yourself and welcome them into the neighborhood. Tell Perry and Nick that you read this article in the Juniper Berry and let them feed you with some of their menu delights.
We wish Perry and Nick of The Good Diner a productive and successful future in Maspeth.
