We have a new business on Eliot Avenue in Middle Village and it is owned by Neil O'Donnell and Andrea Prestigiacomo. If you love Italian food, and who doesn't, you're going to put this place at the top of your list for fresh, home made Italian cuisine.
DiLusso Deli has been in business since February 2015 and in that time they've become very popular. In addition to the over-the-counter sandwiches and salads that DiLusso sells they cater parties with an excellent selection of catering items, including hot food specialties, party subs and cold trays. They have a variety of party trays including antipasto and salad samplers, cold cut, and sandwich trays. Their cold cuts are Boar's Head and your menu can be customized to accommodate your needs whatever they may be. They have fresh fish including “pasta cu li sardi” – Sicilian for Pasta with sardines. For your convenience, DiLusso delivers everywhere in the city limits.
Meet the owners – Neil O'Donnell and Andrea Prestigiacomo. Andrea has managed multiple Italian restaurants including Il Quartiere in Forest Hills and Giardino in Douglaston. He has over 30 years' experience with cooking old school Sicilian Italian recipes, which his Mom taught him. Neil O'Donnell is retired from the NYPD. In the NYPD he was awarded over 50 medals. Two of those medals were the second highest awards in the Department. Neil was also one of the youngest policemen ever promoted to Detective at 25 years of age! He retired from the Brooklyn Robbery Squad as a Detective. He has been involved with youth sports for over thirty years and is the President of the Queens Falcons football team. He also coaches youth basketball at Our Lady of Hope. Neil has four children and Andrea has three and they live right here in Middle Village.
Stop in at DiLusso Deli and order some of their great food. Say hello to Neil and Andrea and tell them you read about them in the Juniper Berry. Trust me, they know about the Juniper Berry and were very anxious to make sure their ad got in the June 2015 issue. Good luck Neil and Andrea with DiLusso Deli. Given both your credentials of hard work and accomplishment, you're a success at the starting gate!
