Although we only had two big snowfalls this winter, the temperatures were nothing short of arctic. Several times the mercury dipped down into the single digits, and the windchill made it feel below zero. Animals have incredible resilience, however. Birds such as the Blue Jay are highly adaptable to winter conditions and bring some color to the white landscape. This guy or gal seems ready for March Madness. Photo by Steve Fisher.
