It turned out he had a special gift after all. It turned out that his gift was the most important. He persisted, he endured, and he didn’t let anything stop him. It turned out, in the end, what matters most, is the resiliency to simply NEVER GIVE UP.
This may be the greatest testimony and message of all.
Enduring is the highest, and last spiritual crown. It is the hardest spiritual gift to achieve. Those who do endure are winners, regardless of whether they are recognized for it by the outside world.
Talent is not enough. Intelligence won’t win you the greatest success. It’s how you use it that defines your character and your ability to become successful, and to stay successful and not lose it all because you lack the ability to be a good steward of all you gain.
It takes approximately 10,000 hours to develop a talent. If you’re in a class all your own, it takes a great deal more.
There’s a reason why 80% of the population wants to write a book and only one in a million actually does. The ability to persist against all odds is what will make you not just one in a million, but one-of-a-kind.
Tomorrow is not promised for any of us. We will all inevitably die. If you want your life to mean something
significant, it’s important to think about your legacy. It’s important to think about what you want to leave behind.
One day, we won’t be here on this earth, at least not in physical form. Our names will be engraved on a headstone, or our ashes will be scattered in the wind. That space between the day you were born and your death—that is your life.
What do you want your headstone to read? How do you want people to remember you? What do you want to leave behind, with a piece of your heart and soul contained in it?
If you want to live your best life, it’s important to live with eternity in mind, so that when you die, whatever you did with love, will continue on. Forever.
