We had three beautiful days where streets were co-named for fallen NYPD officers whose sacrifices were previously detailed in the Juniper Berry. First on September 16, Ptl. Joseph Jockel Way was dedicated in Maspeth. Next on October 11, the co-naming of Lt. Charles Kemmer Way was celebrated in Ridgewood. Finally on October 25, the sign Ptl. Henry E Meyer Way was unveiled in Glendale.
Co-sponsors included the Lieutenants Benevolent Association, Police Benevolent Association, NYPD Steuben Association, Salvation Army Ridgewood, Brewery Keenan Heiser American Legion Post 1815, Frank Kowalinski Post, Council Member Robert Holden, Enchanted Florist and Newtown Historical Society. The events were directed by the NYPD Ceremonial Unit.
