CB5 voted 34-0 on Oct. 16 to reject the City’s proposed plan for a 200-men shelter at 78-16 and instead suggested smaller shelter sites with capacity for 20-25 residents. The Glendale-Middle Village Coalition has filed 2 lawsuits against the City and Westhab to halt the shelter based on DOB issues and the fact that a required environmental review was not conducted prior to the City’s 30-day notice to the Community Board that the shelter had been approved.
