Just as the last issue of the Juniper Berry went to press, Captain Manson informed us that the robber that had targeted banks throughout our area had been arrested after passing a note at the Capital One Bank on Forest Avenue in Ridgewood. The perpetrator’s name is Reuben McLaughlin, he is 24-years old and from Brooklyn. This fellow is now looking at decades in prison. Great work by the 104th Precinct in apprehending this individual!
Unfortunately, we have another serial bank robber on the loose. On April 29th at 3:25pm, a man (pictured above) walked into the Cross County Bank at 80-10 Eliot Avenue and demanded money. The teller complied and the thief walked away with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries. He also robbed the now defunct Amalgamated Bank August 4, 2012, May 4, 2013, and October 18, 2014 as well as a Brooklyn bank location July 19, 2013.
The perpetrator was described as a light skin male with a beard, in his 40's, 5'6″, approximately 230 lbs, wearing a black hooded sweater with a black hat. Anyone with information concerning this case please call (800) 577-TIPS.
