The Grand Avenue Truck Bypass has been in effect for quite some time now, but the trucks keep on coming. There is scant enforcement and the drivers know this. Even if they get hit once in a while, the tickets are written off as “cost of doing business.”
We need dedicated enforcement to alleviate this problem, and such a measure would fit in perfectly with Bill de Blasio’s Vision Zero traffic safety efforts. Now that we have a new administration, we’re asking the new mayor to pony up extra officers for traffic enforcement in our area.
