Greetings from the 104th Precinct!
These last few months have been unprecedented for all of us. Our community, city and nation continue to navigate through these trying times, which we will overcome.
Thank you to all individuals, business and organizations who have provided support to us, both emotionally and with donations. It is greatly appreciated by the men and women of the command.
Unfortunately, we are experiencing an increase in certain crimes of opportunity during this pandemic. Commercial burglaries are on the rise as well as thefts from automobiles. It is imperative that you take initiative to protect your business and personal belongings from these opportunistic criminals. Some tips include:
Lock your vehicle doors at all times, even when parked in your drive way.
Do not leave key fobs and other belongings in your vehicle.
Do not leave your car running, even if it’s only to run inside a store.
If you have a business that is currently closed, if possible, prevent visual access into the establishment by blocking windows.
Frequently check on your business and insure locks are secure.
Lastly, as always if you see something, say something.
These tips can prevent the loss and inconvenience of property being stolen as well as keep you and your family safe.
We wish you all happiness and good health.
