Strenuous Objection to Location of Branch in Democratic Club
Mass Meeting on Tuesday
Middle Village Civic Association invites Neighboring Associations to Attend Session

Protest was again registered last week at a meeting of the Middle Village Civic and Improvement Association over the presence of a branch of the Queens Borough Public Library in the Montauk Democratic Club on Metropolitan Avenue. The meeting, which was largely attended, was held in Seib’s Hotel, Metropolitan Avenue and Juniper Valley Road.

A decision was made to invite all the members of the neighboring civic organizations in the vicinity to a special meeting to be held next Tuesday evening, December 8. At this meeting a definite plan of action will be adopted to have the library removed to a more appropriate place.

Republicans and non-partisans have voiced strenuous objections to the idea of having to go to a Democratic Club for books they desire to obtain.

At the joint meeting next Tuesday evening a plan will also be discussed for a program to celebrate the official opening of the new school, P.S.128, now being completed on Juniper Valley Road.

It is expected the structure will be ready for occupancy about the first of the year.

Plans have also been started in the community for a jolly Christmas festival for the children. It is the aim of the committee workers to make the affair the finest ever held in the section, and to assure a fine time for all the boys and girls of Middle Village.

Louis Niederstein presided. All civic workers of the section are urged to make a special effort to attend next Tuesday evening’s meeting in order that the question of the removal of the library branch may be given serious consideration.
