A petition by Middle Village residents living along Penelope Avenue has prompted a reaction by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, State Senator Joseph Addabbo and Assembly Member Andrew Hevesi. They sent a joint letter to the NYC Department of Transportation Commissioner in January calling for a review of the traffic conditions there, which have become more dangerous with the advent of the Waze app as it directs motorists to use the narrow two-way road to avoid traffic elsewhere.
