If you live near the CSX or LIRR tracks, you likely have experienced the noise that railroad operations generate, whether it’s the diesel engines, loud horns, or coupling of the cars. A staffer for Congress Member Nydia Velazquez announced at the January Community Board 5 meeting that she is working on a quiet zone workshop for the area with the Federal Railroad Administration.
