On December 24, photos taken by Mike Fordunski showed the track and new fields at Principe Park open to the public despite the lingering flooding issue at the southwest corner. Assembly Member Brian Barnwell posted the following on January 9: “Update. Parks/DEP will install an overflow storm sewer connection to the city’s storm sewer system at Frank Principe Park which will provide for immediate drainage of the site during severe rain storm events. Work shall take a few weeks to complete.” Sewer installation was completed by the end of January.
