On July 31st, Juniper Park super volunteer and longtime baseball coach, Pat Santoro, died suddenly in his home in Middle Village. Mr. Santoro, 54, dedicated a good portion of his life to the youth of Middle Village. He coached RGMVMLL for many years and volunteered as a coach for Christ the King High School For ten years he helped maintain the baseball fields in Juniper Valley Park. “He was a tireless volunteer in helping to maintain the ballfields in the park. His work on the upper fields helped earn the Juniper ballfields a perfect score in the 2012 New Yorkers for Parks rating,” said Robert Holden, president of the Juniper Park Civic Association. “Pat was one of the most dedicated volunteers in our community, even though he had health problems for the past 7 years he worked night and day to help the youth of our community. He was a true friend and we are all saddened with his passing,” said Holden. Pat Santoro is survived by his wife Linda and sons Patrick, 23 and Joseph, 20.
