Members of the Mothers’ Club of Public School 87, Dry Harbor Road and Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, gave a benefit show last night at the Arion Theatre, 2152 Metropolitan Avenue, to raise money with which to purchase baskets of food to be distributed to the poor people of Middle Village for Christmas. It was reported that a substantial sum was raised. The show consisted of a Harold Lloyd picture, “Why Worry,” and one of the Chronicles of America series of films, “The Declaration of Independence” The pictures were shown at 3:30 in the afternoon and at 7 and 9 last night. The benefit was given through the courtesy of Joseph Nathan, manager of the theatre.
